Research
For this project, we were tasked with conducting research on any topic of interest relating to dentistry.
Some challenges in this research was finding the appropriate publications in order to support our hypothesis, since this is a fairly new topic.
After finding the necessary publications, we were able to successfully conduct our meta analysis of the our topic.
From this experience, I was able to learn how to properly conduct and publish an official research publication.

Smoking vs Vaping on Gum Disease 〰️
For this research project, my colleague and I wanted to research the theories of smoking and vaping and its effects on the gums. From our research, we were able to find that cigarette smoking is significantly more detrimental to the gums than vaping. Although one or the other is not better, it is important to recognize these differences in order to make better decisions for our patients.
Some challenges that were faced were finding the necessary research publications in order to support our hypothesis.
Regardless of the challenges, we were successfully able to conduct our research appropriately.

For this special privilege, I was able to take part in and complete this collaborative research program, where I learned how to conduct research and took an oath to research integrity.
From this experience, the only challenges faced were understanding new terminology.
I overcame those challenges by putting in the work to understand as much as possible.
This experience was truly unforgettable.
