At this event, I provided oral health education to the local senior population. This was during the start of my dental hygiene program, where I was still learning the ropes of how to properly give oral hygiene instructions. As time went on during this event and communicating with more folks, I started to get the hang of giving proper advice. Fast forward to today, I am as confident as ever in this topic and always provide it to my patients every chance I get - since I recognize that oral hygiene instructions are one of the most important aspects of oral hygiene.

At this event, extending from the previous one, I provided more oral hygiene instructions to the local population, along with using interactive games such as using play-doe to sculpt teeth and teach the younger population. After getting the hang of interacting with a younger patient population, I felt confident in providing oral hygiene instructions in a manner most conducive to a child’s learning.
